Gordon Brown faces the “secret donation”
by Daniela Simkova

Gordon Brown had discovered the anonymous donation for the Labour Party. Mr. Brown had noticed this firstly on saturday night probably with no pleasure since it was unlawfull donation. Mr. Browm revealed on his monthly conference that the Labour Party had obtained £600,000 from Mr. Abrahams, which was made through proxy. Mr. Brown denied any relation to Mr. Abrahams. Mr. Brown claimed: "What has happened, where political donations have not been lawfully declared, is completely unacceptable, cannot be justified in anyway, and this behaviour should never happen again in future." We can assume that all the money are being returned to Mr. Abrahams. "I would welcome any investigation that takes place into this. It is necessary that this matter be cleared up once and for all," said Mr. Brown while asking about the opinion if there is needed any criminal investigation. The investigation is dependent on the final statement od the Ellectoral Commision, which is already analyzing this problem. One of the facts that came on the ground was that Mr. Abrahams associates' gave a large amount of money to The Labour Party, each on one day in July, as a gift. Mr. Abrahams believes that he had not done anything wrong with this donation.

UK companies go “green”
by Daniela Simkova

Every single day is produced a high percentage of carbon dioxide emission, which really harms not only us, people, but aslo our country. It grew up into the dimensions, that mankind needs to develop new technology to avoid these emissions and sequential global disaster. This is what The Confederation of British Industry fights for. The global warming is labeled as a nominal problem. Mankind can avoid it by decreasing of producing the carbon dioxide emissions. The Confederation of British Industry made its option to study green technology as for the help to fight against the global warming. "We will do what it takes" expressed his attitude to climate problem Ben Verwaayen, BT chief executive at The Confederation of British Indusrty conference in London. For the organizations as Friends of the Earth, or Greenpeace is a pleasure to know that The Confederation of British Industry cares for the environment and much more that delivers a message of high importance of this "green" actions to the government. The Confederation of British Industry is in antimony with the wanting of companies to go green and on the other hand for instance with road building. These two negate each other. The Confederation of Britihs Industry though takes as an obligation to continue on the study of green techniques as well as to save large amount of carbon dioxide emissions in three years.

Squirrels' competition
by Jana Kokavcova

Squirrel is a mammal that we know from some fairy tales. Nice , cute, funny. But what we really know about this fascinating animal. Do we know about competitions between grey and red squirrels? No. I don't think so. We really don't know a lot about this animal, how does their life looks like. It is maybe not so simple as we think. Red squirrels in United Kingdom are in danger. Why? Because of their cousins Grey squirrels. They are more powerful and not so weak and have better conditions for life. So they find mates, have small squirrels and are not so in danger as red squirrels. Red squirrels are really in danger. There are now only 40,000 red squirrels in Ireland. How can it be so? Ireland survives red squirrels. There are some special measurements to protect red squirrels. What could people do? They could help. But don't you think it is all about nature? Should we play a role of God? Could we? I know, it is too sad that one brand of squirrels is in better situation than the another, but..that is life. It is "law of jungle". And poor squirrels are a part of this law system. We can do what we want to do, but we can not find a right way how to escape before destiny of nature and before destiny of our world.

Flood Alert in East Anglia Rises Concerns about the Future
by Barbora Kasparova

East Anglia after the last week's flood alert is out of the main risk now, and many people have returned to their homes during the weekend after the evacuation. The UK Environment Agency warns the inhabitants of affected areas to stay alert, and keep an eye on the current situation. Besides watching the latest news, there is a web site provided, that is updated every 15 minutes, where people can check the flood warnings in their area, or they can contact a flood line (http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/subjects/flood/floodwarning/). What are the future prospects in the flood situation? That is, naturally, what people living in the areas are concerned about. What are their chances should the situation repeat or even become more severe (as some still remember the great flood in 1953) considering the climate change and subsequent rising of the sea level. As reported by the BBC News, the government denies allegations it would "sacrifice" the concerned areas to the sea, if the costs of saving them became too high. The Environment Agency, however admits, they are trying to "work with nature rather than against it" (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7089652.stm). It is logical the government can only do the possible and fighting the nature is definitely not one of its goals. According to Defra (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs), the spending on flood risk management has been doubled over the past ten years, however, financial issue is a human limit to the effort of saving the area.

Floody Friday
by Natalia Holvova

Looking from the window this morning wasn't experience that I like. The fall is my favorite season of the year in the world but fall in my mind looks much different. The sky is blue trees are gently moved from side to side, all in the colors you can imagine in your mind. And than you are walking through the woods and the dried leaves are whispering under your feet. This certainly didn't happen today's morning to me. I looked out from the window and everything was kind of sad and white. Sky was fuzzy and full of clouds. And when I turned the radio on the big news appeared. Government is warning of the danger of the flooding spreading in whole Europe. Everything started in England and they evacuated thousands of people from the east cost. Rotterdam is ready, no people in the dangerous areas. Suddenly it seems that everyone is working on some plan how to save people how not to panic too much and survive until catastrophe is gone. There is something we really can't change and is seems to be nature that is the queen in the world without the crown and bodyguards. Once the weather is not working we can't just repair it. But we need some measures that can help us to deal with it. We do vote for people to government. Those who we expect to protect our lives and homes. Now we can see consideration that new British prime minister puts into the saving plan for people. This is priority number one! Even though I am sure there are such more important political troubles that politicians are dealing with everyday. War has to wait! The nature is priority on floody Friday!
