Chris Cantell Discusses UK News: Diana's death investigated
by Claudia Sonea

On 31 August 1997 due to a tragic accident caused allegedly by the fact that Henri Paul, Acting Security Manager of the Hôtel Ritz Paris, was driving under the influence of alcohol, all the British people were mourning the loss of their Princess of Hearts. Diana Frances, born Spencer, married the heir of the throne prince Charles of Wales with whom she had two children, William and Henry. That led to the loss of anonymity and entrance in the people's attention who were fascinated with her royal status. Even after the divorce, most of the people sympathized with her, mostly because her charity works. She remained in media's attention who was constantly on her tracks and that eventually led to her tragic ending. In the night of the tragic event she was at the Ritz Hotel together with her lover Dodi Al-Fayed, 42 years old, son of Mohamed Al-Fayed, the multimillionaire who owns the Hotel. Together with Henri Paul and Trevor Rees-Jones, Dodi's bodyguard, they tried to escape the paparazzi, therefore engaged in a high speed car, in the Pont d'Alma road tunnel in Paris the car, a '94 black Mercedes-Benz S280, crashed into the thirteenth pillar of the tunnel. It is absolutely inhuman how the paparazzi were more interested to take photos of the accident than the people who were trapped in the car. The only survivor was the bodyguard sitting on the passenger seat, Dodi and Henri died instantly, while Diana suffered massive damage to her heart and subsequent internal bleeding. Despite the efforts to resuscitate her, the Princess of Hearts died on the ambulance to the Hôpital Pitié-Salpêtrière. In London a jury was formed in order to establish if the death was an accident and on Monday and Tuesday they will trace back the last day of the couple. Lord Justice Scott Baker, knowing how the event will attract media's attention, urged for the eleven jurors (six women and five men) to be left alone, because they are already under a lot of pressure due to their responsibility. Both French and British police after careful investigation concluded that it was caused by the chauffer who was found to have a three times more amount of alcohol in his blood, than the legal limit. However, Mohamed accused the British security of killing them and reasoned with the fact that Princess' marriage with a Muslim would not be appropriate for the Royal House. Stay close there are more to come on this. Until then let's keep a moment of silence in the honor of a woman who proved that we all are human beings beyond social status. She was the first celebrity touching a child with HIV. She dedicated her life to her children and to all the causes in the world. She really made a difference.
