Chris Cantell Discusses UK News: Firefighters sift through hotel debris Notme

Sunday, a powerful blaze transformed to debris the Penhallow Hotel from Newquay, Cornwall.A 43 year old is believed that jumped from the second-floor after fire broke out Saturday at midnight.Almost eighty persons, mostly elderly, were evacuated from the hotel, but two are still recorded as missing. Four people are in the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro and their condition is improving except for one of them, which is in a critical but stable condition.Police thinks that the two people missing, one of them believed that is related to the 43 year old man, are dead. Their family has been informed about this.A police spokesman said: "The search continues for the other unaccounted for person and any relevant evidence to assist the investigation."Until yesterday afternoon, the firefighters and the police had not been able to get into the smouldering wreckage.Although it is not presumed to be arson, police declared the fire as a major crime scene "until evidence to the contrary".Detective Chief Inspector Darren Lockley said: "We are looking to trace people that have images or recordings of what happened on that night. We are trying to establish what happened and those images will be of vital importance."A team of 20 people are already searching through the hotel's ruble hoping to find some useful information that will lead to the cause of the fire.
